I’m struggling here to prepare other pages of services and get the presentation right.
A full time job plus some contract work and a family leaves precious little time for this. However I am moving forward and recently found two more offerings to add to our mix; an email mailout/newsletter service and a linking service.
Caribbean reciprocal link exchange
I particularly like the reciprocal linking service as this will benefit everyone in the Caribbean. The advantage of all the listed sites being Caribbean focused will help boost page rank for everyone listed and I think it will provide some cohesiveness within the Caribbean web site community. I’m currently working on the logo and verbage and hope to have this available very soon.
If you are not familiar with web site Pagerank, here’s Google’s explanation, and the Wikipedia page. It’s all part of that goal of showing up on page one of a search, which is what we all want.

Do you know CARICOM? You should, as they are setting the rules for working in the Caribbean and especially locals looking for jobs on other islands.
CARICOM is a concatenation of “Caribbean Community” and its objectives are: “to improve standards of living and work; the full employment of labour and other factors of production; accelerated, coordinated and sustained economic development and convergence; expansion of trade and economic relations with third States; enhanced levels of international competitiveness; organisation for increased production and productivity; achievement of a greater measure of economic leverage and effectiveness of Member States in dealing with third States, groups of States and entities of any description and the enhanced co-ordination of Member States’ foreign and foreign economic policies and enhanced functional co-operation.”
The part of CARICOM that interests me is CSME, the “Caribbean Single Market and Economy” and more specifically the section on free movement and labour between islands. This is important as it has been difficult in the past for skilled trades to find jobs outside of their own location. Not all islands participate in this yet but hopefully they will all get on board soon.
Having worked in the Caribbean I understand the shortage of skills that may be available on any one island and yet on the reverse side there can be skilled individuals who, due to the size of the population, cannot find enough work. CARICOM and CSME will hopefully alleviate this, and I look forward to that.
